Pete Rose no closer to reinstatement to the hall of fame
On Monday, 20 years to the day Pete Rose signed an agreement with Major League Baseball banning him from the sport, he is no closer to being reinstated.
Hank Aaron’s and Mike Schmidt’s comments may be the last talk of Rose entering the Hall of Fame anytime soon, epecially during the reign of Bud Selig, who has a contract as commistioner through 2012.
When contacted, a spokesman for Selig said “ The commissioner stands by his comments to reporters he made during (last months) Hall of Fame weekend, as judge and jury on this Selig said then “I would remind you that Pete Rose admitted to gambling on baseball and agreet to a lifetime ban” He added the case is always under review, but nothing has changed.
Now my question is we all know that Pete Rose was found guilty and banned from Baseball. But if a man that was betting on Baseball can be banned for life, how is it that a dog killer meaning Michael Vick is allowed to return to the NFL?
Rose was a great player when he played with the Cinncinati Red’s baseball team, as a matter of fact he was known as “Charlie Hustle”
Rose never killed anyone, or dogs, he was caught betting on baseball games, and some say throwing games, all I can say is when he was on the field he was trying to win.
All in all he paid his price, now why not let him enter the Hall of Fame, if Vick can return to the NFL, Pete Rose can be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
What do you think? Should Rose be allowed to enter the Hall of Fame?
Here is another question, why can’t Pete Rose return as a coach or manager in MLB?
Remember Vick returns to the Eagles, now determine, betting on baseball and killing animals, which is worse?.
I think Rose needs to have some rights also as a great player years ago, and I believe he has served his time as well as dues.
Thanks
